Dreaming for Homeschool Moms

Crazy Dreams to Fulfill

Do you have a dream that you have held since childhood? You that type of dream that nags at your heart every day! My first dream was to be a mom. From the time I was a toddler, I was obsessed with babies and couldn’t wait to have my own someday. I am thankful that I have been blessed to be living that dream, and currently have a “little mommy wannabe” of my own. However, I still had a couple things on my bucket list, so to speak.

I’m not as sold, anymore, on being an undercover CIA operative in Russia. It’s not exactly an ideal job for a homeschooling mom with small children! So, I’ve been chasing another BIG dream. I wanted to publish a book!

Hitting the Presses

Now, I have had a little experience in this dream chasing. I got my Sound Foundations Manual published this Fall, followed by the 30 Day Journal companion. However, neither were a real book in my eyes. You know the kind you snuggle up with a hot cup of tea to read! I wanted my book to impact other moms and be their little oasis, the kind you sneak reading pages throughout the day while the kids are busy.

Checking off that List

I decided to change all that at the end of 2018!! (Yes, I know it is 2019, it takes time to get things published. 🙂 I teamed up with five other lovely homeschool bloggers to build the book I wish I had had in my early days of homeschooling, the result, Homeschool Moms Want You to Know!

Homeschool Moms Want You to Know is written by real homeschool moms for moms just like you. A hearty dose of information, with plenty of inspiration to help you make an informed and confident decision. The lovely advice and stories housed in this book are perfect for homeschool moms wondering if they are doing it “right.” You know those early days when everything feels so much harder than you expected and you are convinced anyone could teach your children better than you are! (Yup, I’ve been there!)

Let’s Not Stop There

Just publishing the book wasn’t enough for me! I wanted a best seller. Now, those are pretty cool bragging right, but really I want it to advance my mission. You see, having a best seller means more visability, and the chance to touch more moms just like you and me. I want the opportunity to reach every mom who needs this. It’s time we fling wide the curtains of homeschooling and let the world know that moms make amazing educators!

So, I am so happy to say that my book has been in the top 10 of Kindle parenting books since Wednesday!! In fact it made it to #1 for 3 hours!!! WOOHOO! Check! I’m getting closer and closer to undercover operative being the only thing left on my bucket list!

Praise for Homeschool Moms Want You to Know

“I myself considered homeschooling my kids at one point and your book answered a lot of questions I had when I was considering it. I think it really would’ve given me the courage to try it if I had read it back then. Even now after I found a school that I love for my kids, your book has opened up that mental dialogue again. Well done.” Janice A, mom of 2

“I am finally sitting down with the book today. I LOVED the chapter on husbands. I find it so interesting that many of the contributors are former teachers! I am as well, & it was very difficult to untrain (still working on it) my classroom self.

I loved the chapter on husbands because it put words to my feelings. It is often difficult to explain to our loved ones exactly what we need because we are caught up in the emotions of it. This chapter specifically gave me a ready made “honey help” list with explanations. I also enjoyed how the book encouraged moms to stay true to themselves and realize that homeschooling is not one size fits all.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure I’d get anything out of it since I have been homeschooling a few years now, but I am really enjoying it. I wish I’d had it when I started! My favorite part is how it encourages you to stay true to yourself.”
